This tea has been specially selected for Robert Wilson’s Ceylon Teas from one of the finest estates in the Uva climatic region. Considered by some to be one of the most beautiful regions in the country, with its totally different physical and climatic aspects to the rest of the island’s tea-planting districts, the strong, dehydrating cachan winds that blow over the region provide the perfect conditions that produce the extraordinary flavour that is unique to the Uva region.
Shawlands Tea Estate lies on the southern slopes of Madulsima hill range, within the altitude range of 792 m to 1,173 m (2598- 3848 ft) above the sea level.
This is the first time for 3 years that the quality of tea during the short dry season has been high enough to achieve the standards expected of Robert Wilson’s Ceylon Teas and we are delighted to be able to share this tea with you. Manufactured at midnight for coolness and to develop the volatile flavour oils, it produces a rounded liquor with some colour and a delicate flowery flavour. It will balance milk, if required. Without milk the amount of leaf can be reduced to suit personal taste and palate.
